We are sorry to hear of your misfortune. With Billeo+ you save your information in the Cloud and therefore even in the unfortunate situation you lose your device, your important information is still secure in our servers. One can only access your information if they know your Billeo+ username and password. In order to protect your security please ensure you never give out your Billeo username and password.
If your were using Automatic Sign-in, please take the following steps as a precaution:
If security is of paramount importance and you don't mind a little inconvenience, you can uncheck Automatic Sign In.
Here is how to do it:
Your Timeout setting tells the Billeo+ browser app to automatically sign you out after the specified amount of time. Setting it to a low number will prevent un-authorized access to your machine should this be a concern. The default Timeout setting is Never.
Billeo+ uses a cloud-based Vault system that allows seamless access to your Vault data from any computer with Billeo+ installed. (The eWallet data is also accessible from our ShopSmart App for the iPad.) With Billeo+, you no longer need to transfer your Vault via the backup and restore method. If you have Billeo+ running on one computer, simply install Billeo+ on the second computer, and then sign in to your account. You will then have access to all your information on the server.
If you have downloaded Billeo+ on a new computer and would like to transfer your Vault to this computer, you can:
With Billeo+ your information is stored securely on the Billeo cloud server. Our secure encryption mechanisms mean that if you forget your password, you can only recover the password from a trusted computer (that is, one with which you use auto-sign in). If you have chosen to not allow any of the computers you use to be trusted (so that you need to provide your password every time), then you can never recover your password if you happen to forget it.
To help avoid this potential problem, we have provided another level of "trusted" computer, where you allow us to keep a local backup of your vault on a non-auto sign in computer. If you choose this option, you would still need to provide your password to get access to your account whenever you log in. However, if you were to forget your password, this computer would be available to recover your password. When you select this option, a copy of the your vault is placed on your computer, encrypted and secure, to be used only for password recovery purposes.
We recommend you choose this option only for computers which you own, preferably your primary computer. We do not recommend using this option with computers owned by others, such as hotel or school computers.
